Electronic PAWS (e-PAWS)

e-PAWS is an extension of enhancements to the PAWS process that began in 2005. The e-PAWS system will allow for direct entry of PAWS documents and upload of PAWS files in a standard file format (XML).

 What is the PAWS proposal?

The PAWS proposal is in an initiative developed and supported by the Ohio Association of County Boards of DODD (OACBDODD), Ohio Provider Resource Association (OPRA) and the Ohio Department of DODD. The main initiatives of the proposal are to simplify the PAWS process by eliminating the need for the use of staff and group size for individuals transitioning to the new waiver methodology.  The proposal also seeks to provide better communication and feedback between counties, providers and the department.
