Marie Sowers
Marie Sowers, 28, lives in Lancaster in her own apartment with a
roommate who is another Blue Shoe artist. Marie has been drawing and painting for several years, but has really
started to polish her techniques since working in the Blue Shoe Arts studio.
She works on her original art on Mondays and Tuesdays, and
on Wednesdays, she creates wonderful jewelry called "Recyclabits."
These are necklaces made from all recycled/reused materials,
including telephone wire, buttons, and beads. A special type of
necklace is called an "uncorked kid" which has, as its framework, the
wire cage used to hold the cork in a Champagne bottle!!

Marie
Marie specializes in acrylic paintings on canvas, but also enjoys
mixed-media, fabric art and dolls, and large wooden/metal
sculptures. She recently worked 1-on-1 with Todd Camp of Newark on 2
large sculptures that were featured in the Lancaster Festival Art
Walk in July..
Cool Art
Marie is also excited to be a part of a new product being introduced
in September by Blue Shoe Arts.....large butterflies made out of
aluminum sheets, pepper shaker lids, telephone wire and beads. She
will be adding her wonderful free-flowing paint strokes to the metal
wings and working in the assembly process of the butterfly.
Of all the artists in Blue Shoe Arts, Marie is probably the most versatile!
